Official Synopsis, [1]

Priceless Roaches is the 17th episode of Season 3.

Plot[]

Oggy is at the Great Wall of China, taking some pictures. He comes across a shopkeeper, selling various souvenirs. At the same time, he spots the cockroaches, who are fooling around with the various objects on display. Annoyed, Oggy unsheathes his flyswatter, and chases the cockroaches for a while. He finally catches them, and repeatedly smacks them with his flyswatter, but is encouraged to do so even further by the shopkeeper, with his penetrating look. Following this, Oggy sells the Roaches to the shopkeeper, in exchange for 3 coins. He is just about to leave, but seeing the cockroaches looking tearful, Oggy feels remorseful. Having an epiphany, he tries to buy them back, but the greedy shopkeeper apparently bumps up the price. Angry, Oggy tries to put up a fight with the old man, only to get kung fu kicked in the gut. He climbs down the Wall, hoping to think of a way to rescue his frenemies.

Firstly, he tries to pole vault using a long piece of bamboo, but his first attempt causes him to vault clean over the Wall, and landing on the other side, on his back.

Trying out the plungers to try to climb over the wall has also failed, as he gets crushed by the bricks. Same with this failed plan, trying to climb up with the rope.

His second attempt was also a failure; the pole stood vertical on the side, and the shopkeeper chopped it with a machete, thus, causing Oggy to fall over.

Next, he tries to fly on a firework rocket tied to his back. The results were poor; on the first attempt, Oggy flew into the sky and exploded (in turn, the cockroaches gave an applause);

Same goes for the third attempt; the bamboo gets stuck, and Oggy repeatedly rebounds from the ground and the 'Wall.

On the second try, the rocket just flew off Oggy's back, burning him to ashes in the process. After many failed attempts to get over the wall, Oggy resorts to climbing by hand; at this point his fur is singed, and he's covered in bamboo splinters. Unfortunately, he is too late—the cockroaches have been sold by the old man, so Oggy runs to the nearby town to find them.

First, he travels to a café, where Dee Dee is expected to be cooked by the head chef. Oggy sneaks into the kitchen, and frees Dee Dee from his cage. But, just before they're about to leave, Dee Dee eats various foods in the kitchen, all while the head chef is on his way. The head chef finally arrives, but he gets mad seeing his ingredient missing, so he freaks out as he would kill the thief with his big knife he was holding. Frantically, Oggy whisked the cockroach, and they jump out of the window, only to land in a mud puddle, and embraced by a pig, and Dee Dee laughs at this predicament.

Next, Oggy travels to a scientist's lab, where Joey is being kept as a specimen. Oggy and Dee Dee sneak inside, and find Joey inside of a mason jar. Oggy manages to get him out of it, but the gang's troubles aren't over yet; the scientist returns, so they hide inside a porcelain vase. The scientist then gets horrified to discover his specimen was missing. However, the vase was filled with live earthworms, much to Oggy's discomfort.

Lastly, Oggy goes to an insect farm, where Marky is locked in a cage, along with many caged crickets, fluttering their wings. The owner coaxes Marky to flutter as well, which he does in vain. Luckily, Oggy arrives just in time, and knocks out the farm owner, rescues Marky, and they all make a run for it.

However, all hell breaks loose; the alarm has been put out, and many Chinese people are chasing the cat and cockroaches. The mob and the gang traverse across various surfaces—a rice plantation, a river with floating boat houses, a suburban village with many houses, a tomb containing the Terracotta Army, through a mountaintop, and finally, trampling two palace guards in the journey. Oggy and the cockroaches finally reach a dead end. But, there was a manhole that lead from China, all the way back to their home in Animville. Having no other option, Oggy opens the manhole, and they jump through it. After falling through what felt like a seemingly bottomless pit, the gang finally reached their home through the other side, via a sewer. Everyone cheered, but the manhole cover landed on Oggy's head, causing the cockroaches to laugh at him, angering him further.

Finally, Oggy is seen practicing the art of T'ai Chi, with the cockroaches imitating crickets to provide the necessary ambience. When they abruptly stop, Oggy snaps his fingers, causing the cockroaches to continue fluttering, much to their annoyance and frustration.

Errors[]

  • In the original version, the name "Thierry Gérard" is misspelled as "Tierry Gérard".
  • The flags on the stall are Vietnam flags instead of China's.
  • The following scenes were removed from the Hindi dub:
