A Gorilla in Town

Jack, an American adventurer in the early 20’s, brings a gorilla back to the city, meaning to present it on Broadway. Joey wants to steal the ape and make his own fortune. Infuriated by the cockroaches, the gorilla breaks loose – and kidnaps Olivia.

A Gorilla in Town is the sixteenth episode of Season 5 and the 285th episode overall. It takes place in 1920s New York.

Plot[]

A fine day in New York, 1920. And Oggy weaves a yarn ring for Olivia, when Jack arrives, and tells him of capturing King Donkey Kong, and showing it to the public in the theater. The cockroaches learn of its exhibition, and Joey wants to make money out of it. They soon arrive, and so are Oggy, Jack, and Olivia, when they intentionally release the gorilla from the chains by weakening it with their sweat, and releasing it when being tickled by the chase inside its fur.

Soon after, a gorilla chase is ensued after kidnapping Olivia, and the climax soon unfolds when they reach the top of the Metropolis Tower, when finding the trip in the elevator slow, and showing off in a gorilla-cat talent competition, much to the cockroaches' dismay of trying to carry him, and much to Jack's attempt to tame King Kong.

Only one thing missing when King Kong finds out, is Oggy's proposal. When King Kong climbs down with the couple, it was as confirmed, The Beauty that tamed the Beast, much to Jack's failure of fame. As the episode ends, King Kong is sent back to his island home, as Joey stays behind attempting to tame the gorilla, leaving Oggy, Olivia, Marky, and Dee Dee, which the latter two think that Joey has gone crazy, back home in New York.

This episode shares a similar plot (and is a parody of the) with the movie King Kong.
Spiderman is spoofed when Oggy uses two spiders to shoot webs and traverse across the cityscape.
